Cyprus is an island which will give you plenty of opportunities to do different kinds of activities. One of the popular activities in Cyprus is fishing. But for this activity, you will always need to check the regulations; whether you need a license or not. Usually, you will not need one for salt-water fishing. On the island, you will find as many as thirteen reservoirs where you can start catching the fish. There you can find catfish, trout, perch, bream, and many others. For applying for a license, you need to contact the District Fishing Department.

Green Nature

As series of mountains cover approximately half of the island, the nature is definitely its major attraction. In the forests and mountains, you can enjoy the beautiful nature. There are many trails that you can find in the Troodos Mountains. In Akamas Peninsula, you can follow the Aphrodite Trail and Adonis Trail. Furthermore, there is the Forestry Department trail in Cape Greco, and when you visit Paphos Forest, you can easily go on one of the two trails there. During your hiking activity, you will see different kinds of trees, plants, and flowers. There are many travel agencies in Cyprus that arrange hiking tours. If you prefer to visit the lower area of the lands, you can rent a bicycle from some resorts or rentals in town.

Winter sports

Cyprus is showered by sunshine 300 days in a year. But because it has series of mountains, Cyprus offers the visitors a chance to enjoy the snowy winter in some higher areas. If you like to go skiing, you can go to Mount Olympus to visit the Cyprus Ski Club. If you are a beginner, you can follow ski instruction that is available there.

Horseback riding

It is one of the recommended activities in Cyprus. Some places that offer horseback riding are the Lapatsa Sporting Center and Elias Beach Hotel and Country Club.
