Shopping could be a major thing when you are traveling. In Cyprus, there are chopping centers in the city areas where you can buy some souvenirs of local products among with other goods like fashion, electronics, etc.

Before going to the shopping centers, it might be a good idea to check the opening hours first because during winter and summer, there are some changes in the shop opening hours.

Summer

This period lasts during 1st April to 31st October. Normally the shops open at 09.00 and close at 20.30. But on Wednesday, the shops close at 10.00, on Friday at 21.30, and on Saturday at 17.00. During the period of 15th June to 31st August, there is afternoon rest, which means that the shops are closed between 14.00 and 17.00. On Sunday, all shops are closed. Supermarkets usually do not follow the regular opening hours. They open at 07.00 to 20.00.

Winter

The winter period lasts during 1st November to 31st march. The shops are open from 09.00 to 19.00. On Wednesday, the shops open until 14.00, on Friday until 20.00, and Saturday until 15.00. On Sunday all the shops are closed.

Kiosks

There are some kiosks in major areas in Cyprus which sell items like mineral water, soft drinks, cigarettes, magazines, newspapers, etc. They open until late in the evening, or some places even open 24 hours. There are also bakeries that sell dairy products, which are open until 23.00.
Beside the regular shops, there are markets where people sell local products. They usually open in some major areas in Cyprus, start early in the morning and close during lunch hours. In the market, you can find fresh local products like fish, meat, sausages, cheese, fruit, spices, and vegetables. In addition, you can also find some clothing, bags, jewelries, ceramics, etc. Here is the list of some markets in several areas:
